1 Remove spyware.

When cleaning up and re-organizing doesn't do the trick, you should look in to the harmful spyware that sits on your disk. Removing spyware and viruses from your PC will definitely help speed up your slow windows computer. Get acquainted with using software like for stopping viruses intruding in your machine, and a free software called "Spybot" that helps keeping your PC safe and clean.

If you didn't know, spyware is harmful and notorious for interrupting the normal flow of activities by consuming resources, stealing passwords and privacy information from your computer. Get rid of them, now.

2 Clean up your computer.

There's something called "disk cleanup" located under the accessories menu, further under the system tools menu in windows of your computer. The purpose of this software is to help clean your disk, and while doing that save you lots of data space and speed up the computer. Another way to organize your disk is to use the defragment software tool that windows Vista and Xp provides. This tool is located in the same directory like disk cleanup. Using these built-in tools, you can re-organize your disk and remove unwanted files to make your slow windows computer run faster.

3 Look in to the registry.

The registry is a place or database where all your settings and information about your computer is stored. What you need to do is get a registry scanner program, which you can download for free, and use it up to clean your registry and get rid of any errors. Manually doing it risks harming your system all the more. You'll notice that once you've cleaned your registry files, the computer will stop giving you error messages and make your slow windows computer run fast again. Before investing in a new machine, or hardware, be sure to try the basic maintenance first!
